Home to over 300 car DVD player suppliers, China produced about 8 million units in 2007 with sales of about $1 billion, of which 80% were exported. This year, exports are pegged to increase by 10 to 20 percent on average. Read more…


In-car TVs

China is preparing for spiking demand for in-car TVs in 2008. Strong overseas demand and an expanding domestic market are driving makers to bump up monthly production by as much as 50 percent.

Further boosting in-car TV demand are rapid developments in digital transmission and networking technologies, plus preparations for the Beijing Olympic Games.

Two-way Radios

China’s two-way radio suppliers are poised to ramp up the release of feature-enhanced models, expanding their portfolio to include digital models.

While the industry wrestles with rising costs and the appreciation of the RMB against the US dollar, its core base of 110 makers remain upbeat in meeting their output target of 13 million units this year. They are targeting Europe and Africa as their next key export markets.
